2026: A Pivotal Year…or Not.

 2025 was a very stressful year for most Americans. Promises of a better America were replaced with megalomaniacal actions from leadership determined to reverse the nation’s peaceful course. War against civility has been declared, and the despicable, self-serving class of oligarchs is using the Tool to destroy the promises of democracy. The D.C. Branches have decidedly backed the unlawful, violent actions of dictatorship; our nation is being transformed into a fascist, warring state. The USA was not an enemy to the world when our soldiers fought in World War II. Now we are becoming the equivalent of a 1939 Axis Power. 

 The darkest facet of the new corporate-backed fascism is the incessant attack on harmless, peaceful people living in the USA. Dehumanization through demonization is the calculated broadcast course of media referred to as “conservative.” That abominable act is perpetrated against merciful and accepting peoples who contribute to America’s holistic economy. The nation is being divided and weakened by the hate caused by pernicious campaigns; a prominent example is “the great replacement” rhetoric from motivated editorial (NEWS) sources. In essence, the strategy of proponents to corporate fascism is to divide the masses who benefit from democracy… to end it. 

 The “flood the zone” barrage of detestable executive orders is the centerpiece of fascist, corporate oligarchy. The design is to smother the opposition to the oligarchy’s determination. 2025 was the penultimate year in the sanctioned demise of the lawful state, the demise of democracia.

 This message, however, is not one of resignation. NO. This message is one of resolution!

 The People still hold the “high card” in the USA. We are the number one consumer economy on the globe; consumers— you and I— have a role in whether the GDP grows or shrinks. Curtail spending to minimal. Many of us also hold US-based equities; cashing out of those equities puts yet more pressure on corporate oligarchs to reconsider their allegiance to the extreme Administration. These actions are substantive with tangible results expected. Are you very surprised to be reading the solution here? If you are, you may have been avoiding making the connection of economy and governance because it seems almost always inconvenient, doesn’t it? 

  Symbolic actions (like No Kings) alone will not stem the horrific tide in 2026. The law firms fighting in courts to preserve laws of civility are meeting limited success and only slowing the momentum toward complete abolition of civil liberties. We cannot rely on the ACLU to turn this country around. The AFL-CIO represents a small fraction of American labor and has lost most of its capacity to de-stratify the economy for workers. The imminent future is in the hands of consumers and investors of conscience.

  The uniquely American tradition of the SUPER BOWL is just a few weeks away. Boycott it and everything that generates revenue from the colosseum spectacle. Send the message to smug politicians, “We have a say in what direction our country will go.”

  I will conclude by telling you the courage and conviction of every man and woman, who wish to deny a morbid, dystopian future, must prevail. Some pain now is preferable to many years of ANGUISH under brutal, totalitarian rule. We must leverage economic solidarity to thwart the attack on human decency.
